Pastor Retirement Checkup
A focused retirement review for pastors who want clarity about whether they are on track for retirement and what changes may be worth considering.
Ministry finances can be difficult to evaluate clearly. Housing allowances, irregular income, church transitions, and unique retirement structures often make it hard to know where things really stand.
The Pastor Retirement Checkup is designed to help pastors step back, review the numbers, and gain a clearer picture of their retirement readiness.

The Question This Review Is Designed to Answer
“Am I actually on track for retirement?”
Many pastors quietly carry that question for years.
This review is designed to help you assess your current trajectory, identify gaps or opportunities, and walk away with clearer next steps.
Who This Is For
- Pastors at any stage of ministry who want clarity about retirement readiness
- Pastors unsure whether they are saving enough for retirement
- Pastors approaching retirement who want a professional second opinion
- Pastors with multiple retirement accounts, changing compensation, or ministry transitions
- Pastors who want thoughtful financial guidance without committing to a full advisory relationship right away
What the Process Looks Like
Step 1 | Introductory Call
We begin with a short introductory conversation to understand your situation and confirm that the Retirement Checkup is the right next step.
Step 2 | Secure Data Gathering
If we decide to move forward, you will enter key financial information into a secure planning portal. This may include retirement accounts, savings, income, recent tax returns, and other information needed to build an informed retirement projection.
During this stage there may be some back and forth to clarify details and make sure the information is complete.
Step 3 | Retirement Review Meeting
We meet for a focused 75 to 90 minute session where we walk through your retirement projections and discuss what they may mean for your future.
This session focuses specifically on retirement readiness rather than comprehensive financial or tax planning.
Typical Timeline
Most Pastor Retirement Checkups are completed within 30 to 45 days.
This timeframe allows for secure data gathering, financial analysis, and a focused retirement review meeting.
Many pastors complete the process sooner once their financial information is submitted.
During the Review, We Discuss
- Retirement readiness projections
- Savings rate and retirement account structure
- General Social Security timing considerations
- Clergy-specific retirement factors, including housing allowance awareness
- Adjustments that may improve your long-term trajectory
You will leave with clear next steps and practical recommendations.
What You Receive
- A structured review of your retirement readiness
- Retirement projections and scenario analysis
- A focused 75 to 90 minute review meeting
- Clear observations and recommendations based on the information provided
- Greater clarity about your current retirement direction
Designed to Provide Clarity, Not Pressure
This session is designed to provide clarity, not pressure. There is no expectation that you move into an ongoing advisory relationship afterward.
Some pastors use the Retirement Checkup as a standalone second opinion. Others later decide that ongoing financial planning and investment guidance would be helpful.
Either way, the goal is simple: help you think more clearly about retirement and the decisions in front of you.
Cost
$900
We begin with a brief introductory call to understand your situation and confirm that the Retirement Checkup is the right next step.
If we decide to move forward, the fee is paid at that time and you will receive access to the secure planning portal to begin entering financial information.
If, after completing the Retirement Checkup, you feel the process was not valuable, I will gladly refund the fee in full.
A Good Starting Point for Many Pastors
Many pastors begin with a Retirement Checkup before deciding whether an ongoing advisory relationship would be helpful.
If additional planning is needed, we can discuss whether an ongoing advisory relationship would be the right next step. If not, you will still leave with a clearer understanding of where you stand.
